Fabric Sofa Cleaning for homes and offices in Sutrapur
Fabric sofas are the most common furniture in Dhaka homes and the ones that hold the most dirt. We identify the fibre first — cotton, linen, polyester, chenille, jacquard or a blend — then choose the shampoo, water temperature and brush to suit it before extracting the soil out with a professional machine.
Homes in Sutrapur often have heavy wooden-framed sofa sets passed down the family, with older fabrics that need a gentler method than a modern sofa — strong chemistry and heat do damage here.
Working in Sutrapur: Sutrapur runs down toward the Buriganga, an old riverside quarter with heritage buildings, warehouses and dense family housing. Old multi-storey buildings, some over a century old, with newer construction filling gaps.
Why fabric sofa cleaning matters in Sutrapur
That is why fabric identification comes first. The care-label code tells us whether the fabric is safe for water (W), solvent only (S) or both (WS), and a hidden-spot test confirms the colours will not bleed. From there the cleaning is controlled: just enough moisture to release the soil, an extraction pass that recovers it, and a finishing groom so the pile dries in one direction rather than looking patchy.
Getting to you in Sutrapur
Narrow riverside lanes; vehicle access is limited to the main roads.
We regularly work around Sutrapur Bazar, Farashganj, Buriganga riverfront and Wari boundary, and everywhere in between.
Before you book fabric sofa cleaning in Sutrapur
- Older sofas, gentler methods
- Many homes in Sutrapur have heavy wooden-frame sofa sets with older fabrics. We lower temperatures and moisture and do more hand work so neither the fabric nor the timber is harmed.
- Everything is carried in
- Vehicles cannot reach most addresses in Sutrapur. Our portable extraction machines are carried from the nearest road, so allow a little extra time on the day.
- Wood frames and water
- Old timber can release brown tannin stains if fabric over it gets too wet. We keep moisture low on these pieces to avoid that.
What's included
- Fibre identification and care-code check (W, S, WS, X)
- Colour-fastness test on a hidden panel
- Thorough dry vacuum including under seat cushions
- Fabric-matched pre-spray and soft-brush agitation
- Low-moisture hot-water extraction
- Spot treatment on arms, headrests and seat fronts
- Pile grooming for an even finish
- Fan-assisted drying guidance before we leave
Problems this solves in Sutrapur
- Older wooden-frame sofa sets in Sutrapur that harsh chemicals would damage
- Grey, flattened seat cushions on a light fabric sofa
- Cotton covers with brown water-rings from a past home wash
- Dust lodged deep in jacquard and chenille patterns
- Body-oil shine on the arms of a polyester sofa
- Musty smell trapped in thick foam-backed fabric
How it's done, step by step
- 1
Read the fabric
Check the label and weave, then test a hidden spot for bleeding and shrinkage.
- 2
Remove dry soil
Vacuum every surface and seam — up to 70% of the dirt in a sofa is dry particulate.
- 3
Pre-treat
Apply a shampoo suited to the fibre and work it in with a brush matched to the weave.
- 4
Extract
Rinse and vacuum each panel with controlled moisture so cotton and linen do not brown.
- 5
Groom and dry
Set the pile, prop cushions on edge and leave the room ventilated.
Post-monsoon is the best time to clean sofas in Sutrapur — the air is drier, sofas dry fast, and a clean now removes everything the rainy season left behind before winter guests and weddings.
Fabric Sofa Cleaning in Sutrapur — FAQs
Do you provide fabric sofa cleaning in Sutrapur?
Yes. Sutrapur is inside our regular service area and our technicians work in South Dhaka every week. Call 01622-347721 or send a WhatsApp photo of your sofa and we will confirm the next available slot.
How soon can a technician reach Sutrapur?
Narrow riverside lanes; vehicle access is limited to the main roads. For most bookings in Sutrapur we can schedule within 24 to 48 hours, and often the same day for urgent jobs.
Can all fabric sofas be cleaned with water?
No. Fabrics with an "S" care code must be solvent-cleaned and "X" fabrics should only be vacuumed. We check the code and test before choosing the method.
Will my cotton sofa shrink?
Not with controlled extraction. Shrinkage happens when covers are soaked or machine-washed hot. We keep moisture low and dry the fabric quickly.
How do you stop water marks?
By cleaning whole panels edge to edge rather than patches, extracting thoroughly and grooming the pile so it dries evenly.
My sofa covers are removable. Should I wash them myself?
Only if the label allows machine washing. Many covers shrink a few percent and then will not go back on. Cleaning them on the frame is safer.
